"I'm trying to be the best mess. It's an understanding that regardless of how I show up, I'm enough because I said so." -- Chidera Eggerue
Authenticity. It's a state of being for me that has become my NorthStar.
I've been feeling a bit off-center lately. Lots of responsibilities. Lots of running around. Lots of people-pleasing.
When I'm in one of these slumps, I tend to look for and chase what needs to be done in order for me to get centered. But I've realized recently that getting centered simply means returning to being me.
I had a great conversation with my coach the other day about giving myself permission to be me. When I do this, I take pressure off myself to be everything to everyone. I can only be me. And when I am me, as my most authentic self, I serve others powerfully.
I created some new affirmations around this as a reminder to myself:
I give myself permission to be me. I give myself permission not to know everything. I give myself permission to show up everywhere as my most authentic self. I give myself permission to inhabit this authentic space that is always available to me.
My most authentic self is confident in who I am, what I know, and what I don't know.
My most authentic self believes that I am enough and that I am deserving of unconditional love from myself and others.
My most authentic self shares my WHO with the world, shining brightly and paving the way for others to do the same.
I give myself permission to forget and stray from authenticity from time to time. I give myself permission to just breathe and be in order to get back to my most authentic self.
I am a beautiful mess. So are you. So are all of us.
Make it a great day!
Coach Chris
